Trying a new Technique...

At Shopping our Stash the challenge is to try a new technique. The inside of the card was a toughie as I didn't want the inside totally embossed!

To make the papers I inked up my Darice falling leaves embossing folder (the raised side) with a Stampin' Up multi-color ink pad called Pumpkin Patch. The paper was then ran through the embossing machine and I got the result you see! I used Bittersweet Twine, craft leaves, and an acorn (cut with Art Philosophy) for my focal point. The inside was made as the front but made with a diagonal pattern only on the long corners, so a blank non-textured space is left for a sentiment or hand written note. I had to send the paper through twice to get the corners embossed. ETA: To get the diagonal corners like this, I inked up the embossing folder on the diagonal, and then carefully laid the paper over it on the diagonal also, with the main portion hanging outside the embossing folder. I used my Big Shot, as the Cuttlebug is too small for diagonal layouts. But I could have done a straight 2 inch edge in the Cuttlebug on each end.

Thanks for visiting, and have a great day!

DT Spotlight at Kitty Bee Designs

Hello! Today is my spotlight at Kitty Bee Designs, and I'm here with a Lady Bug thank you card that is great for any occasion!

I used the Ladybug from Kitty Bee Designs, printed it off with a toner copier, and used a heat laminator to red foil the outline (here is a great tutorial for this)-

I used Copics to color the ladybug, and adhered her to the cross stitched circle by Lawn Fawn. The red gingham paper is Creative Memories (along with the ladybug stickers) I've had for years! The ribbon is Offray (Jo-Anns), and the thank you deboss die cut is Spellbinders Sentiments 6 using Versafine Onyx ink.

Thank you for visiting!

SoSS I is for Inappropriate

It has been far too long that I've played in any challenges. So when I saw the theme at Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers I knew I had to play!

I absolutely love their challenges, and here is my project-

and then the inappropriateness (if you don't like profanity, please go no further)

I'm going to send this card to my brother so he can forward it on to his boss at work. She is such a twit!

Here are the materials I used to make this card:
  1. Stamps: Outside sentiment, Helen & Alice (Funny Bones by Riley & Co.), inside sentiment (Snarky Stamps for Paper Issues.) Versafine Onyx ink.
  2. Paper: Theresa Collins Memorabilia 6x6 pad, grey, teal cardstock (stash).
  3. Ribbon: American Crafts.
  4. Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug
